Bank Brand Wins AwardLegacy Banks corporate identity honored
November 18, 2009 — Smith & Jones has been chosen as the recipient of a 2009 American Graphic Design Award. Graphic Design USA announced that the corporate brand identity Smith & Jones created for Legacy Banks won the Certificate of Excellence for communication and graphic design. The identity is part of an ongoing branding and advertising campaign the firm launched in 2008 for the bank.
“Being recognized by Graphic Design USA in this prestigious awards competition is an honor for us,” says Smith & Jones’ Chief Thinker, Mark Shipley. “Awards are nice, but we take special pleasure in the results achieved by our hard work. In this case, the new identity and supporting campaign helped Legacy Banks increase Smart Banking relationship accounts and exceed their deposit goals for the period. It’s a win we can all feel really good about.” For more than four decades, Graphic Design USA has sponsored national design competitions that spotlight areas of excellence for creative professionals. The American Graphic Design Awards is the biggest and broadest of these, honoring outstanding work of all kinds and across all media: print and collateral, advertising and sales promotion, corporate identity and logos, internet and interactive design, packaging and p-o-p, broadcast and motion graphics. Legacy Banks is headquartered in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and offers personal banking, mortgage lending, as well as commercial banking, insurance, investments, and portfolio management. Legacy employs nearly 200 people and operates 18 offices throughout Berkshire County, Massachusetts and eastern New York, as well as a Loan Production Office in Colonie, New York.
