Chingachgook takes Gold

November 12, 2007 —

YMCA Camp Chingachgook earned a Gold award in the 2007 MarCom Awards competition this month for its new summer camp brochure, created by brand consultancy Smith & Jones of Troy, New York. The brochure is the primary marketing tool used to attract first-time campers to the summer camp on the banks of Lake Geoge, in the Adirondack Mountains. It was also an integral component in the camp achieving a dramatic 12% increase in YOY camper registration, resulting in all 2007 sessions being at full capacity.

"We have heard nothing but positive feedback on our brochure that Sara Tack and Smith & Jones produced for YMCA Camp Chingachgook" said George Painter, Camp Executive Director. "The design and imagery are inspirational."

“I am proud to help represent an organization that provides the experience of a lifetime and plays such a vital role in the well-being of our children and their families," comments Mark Shipley, Chief Thinker at Smith & Jones. "It's gratifying to receive Gold honors for agency work that truly makes a difference."

With a spectacular location on one of the cleanest lakes in the world, Camp Chingachgook sits on 200 acres of YMCA property and is surrounded by thousands of acres of forever wild state forest preserve. Children come from all over the world, and the staff is committed to helping each camper experience the very best time of his or her life while at Chingachgook.
