S&J awards Mapinfo Meridian

February 22, 2006 —

Smith & Jones today announced that it developed the website and program content for MapInfo Corporation's upcoming 2006 MapInfo Meridian Awards. The awards are slated to make their debut during MapWorld 2006, which will be held May 2 - 4 at the Pointe South Mountain Resort in Phoenix Arizona. The company's most outstanding customers in the categories of "Organizational Impact," "Changing the World," "Technical Achievement," "Unique & Unusual," and "People's Choice" will be announced at that time.

"SMITH & JONES was instrumental in developing the site as a viral program as well as assisting in the concept and content for the MapInfo Meridian Awards program itself," said Elizabeth Meurs, Managing Director, Americas' marketing, MapInfo. "We needed a way to showcase how MapInfo's technology is helping organizations make smarter business decisions and the awards were an ideal platform."

"Smith & Jones is thrilled to bring our talents to this project," said Mark Shipley, Chief Thinker for Smith & Jones. "Developing www.location-challenged.com allows us to engage and pique the interest of visitors to the site while driving them to enter the awards program."

The location-challenged.com website enables visitors to select fictitious characters and read about their navigational "undoings" by not utilizing MapInfo's technology in their quest for information. Each story is written in a very tongue-in-cheek manner and provides a link to the award website, which is located at www.meridianawards.com.
