Dillon opens for S&JJuly 12, 2006 —
Bob Dillon has joined Smith & Jones as Opening Act. In this position, Dillon will be responsible for leading new business development efforts for the firm. Over the last 25 years, Dillon has served in both client and agency roles, which gives him an in-depth understanding of how to assess the fit between a prospective client and an agency. In the client capacity, Bob was most recently Vice President, Brand Marketing for here! Networks, a cable start-up based in New York City. His responsibilities included consumer branding/positioning for the channel, as well as sourcing and overseeing outside media agencies. Prior to here!, he served as Director of Affiliate Marketing for the A&E Television Networks and at Odyssey Channel as VP Marketing where he helped reposition and transition them to the Hallmark Channel. On the agency side of the business, Bob managed an array of high-profile accounts for firms such as Hill Holiday Connors Cosmopulous, Saatchi & Saatchi/Compton, Grey Entertainment & Media and Frankfurt Gips Balkind. He also founded DCS/Strategic Marketing & Management Consulting, where he developed and implemented marketing plans, special events and advertising campaigns for a variety of clients including Viacom, where he worked on several of the most successful syndicated program launches in television history, including The Cosby Show, Roseanne and Montel Williams. He has also consulted with the Lake Placid Sinfonietta, The Lake Placid Film Festival and Timeless International, Inc. - a television syndication group, to name a few. “Bob brings a wealth of experience from both the client and agency worlds that will greatly impact our new business initiatives,” commented Mark Shipley, Chief Thinker for Smith & Jones. “His keen ability to access a future client’s needs as a match for the agency’s specialties will enable us to identify prospects that will benefit from our expertise.” Dillon attended the University of Colorado, Boulder and holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration/Marketing.
