Come out and play!Windham Radio airs...
December 28, 2006 — Troy, NY – Come Out and Play, the new radio campaign SMITH & JONES developed as a part of Windham Mountain’s new brand roll-out, begins airing today in Metro New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, Westchester, the Mid-Hudson Valley and New York’s Tech Valley markets. Instead of two standard sixty second spots as Windham Mountain has used in past years, SMITH & JONES created and produced four thirty second spots: “The creative concept behind the campaign lends itself to a non-standard media schedule. Since each spot is a complete, self-contained unit, they can be run individually,” commented Mark Shipley, Chief Thinker at Smith & Jones. “But they are also designed so they can run back to back and as split thirties. Add to this the ability to change tags on the fly, when Windham gets significant snow fall, and we can send just about any message we need to the market.” Radio stations participating in the schedule were chosen based on a combination of criteria: they had to be a top ranked station in the market, they had to index high for skiers and snowboarders, and they had to be flexible enough to accommodate our innovative media approach. In New York City, stations meeting this stringent qualifications include WPLJ, WFNY, WEPN, WHTZ, WNEW and WFAN. On Long Island, stations include WBLI and WBAB. Also meeting the requirements are WDHA in Northern New Jersey, WHUD and WFAS in Westchester, WRRV in Poughkeepsie, WDST in Woodstock, WEBE and WRKI in Connecticut, and WRVE, WPYX, WHRL and WGY in the Albany/Schenectady/Troy market. Set atop the Catskill Mountain High Peaks, Windham Mountain offers a 1600-foot vertical drop from a 3,100-foot summit elevation. Located 25 miles from the New York State Thruway Exit 21, the resort is in its 46th year of operation and has installed three new chair lifts, three new trails and an ice skating center to further deliver an unparalleled guest experience later this year. Forty-six ski/snowboard trails encompass 257 skiable acres, with night skiing and riding featured Thursday through Saturday, as well as on holidays. Snow tubing is also offered on Fridays, weekends and holidays at the Mountain Top Adventure Park. The resort also owns and operates The Winwood Inn, located on Main Street in the town of Windham. |
