Agency creates SEO-friendly content for brand-building “hybrid” site

June 12, 2009 —

A new “hybrid” website for Pitney Bowes Business Insight went live today, featuring content created by Smith & Jones. The Troy-based agency was hired to develop Search Engine Optimized (SEO) content for the website, including over 220 pages of content for Group 1 Software products and services.

The primary goal of this projects was to integrate product and service content for both Pitney Bowes MapInfo and Pitney Bowes Group 1 Software in a single site for the new Pitney Bowes Business Insight division.

“The hybrid website project was an integral part of defining the Pitney Bowes Business Insight brand for their customers,” said Patrick Reilly, Market Research Specialist at Smith & Jones. “Our experience with branding and Internet marketing, along with our history of successful project management for Pitney Bowes Business Insight provided an added level of confidence for the client in outsourcing a job of this scale.”

Prior to this project, Smith & Jones developed over 250 pages of content as part of a 2007 initiative to redesign MapInfo Corporation’s North American website. The goals of the content development portion were to reduce web content by 50-75%, target messaging to C-level executives and integrate search engine-friendly keywords, meta descriptions and page titles. Although the company was purchased and renamed during the six-month project, Smith & Jones successfully delivered the content on time and on budget.

“Smith & Jones has partnered with MapInfo and the Pitney Bowes organization for more than 10 years. In that time, we’ve helped develop and execute product launches, vertical market campaigns, Internet marketing and brand-building projects including the new Pitney Bowes Business Insight brand,” states Mark Shipley, Chief Thinker at Smith & Jones. “We’re looking forward to more opportunities to contribute to the brand’s communication strategy and implementation.”
