Wanderlust takes offS&J launches new travel & destination marketing division
October 2, 2008 — Troy, NY - Smith & Jones has launched a new travel & destination marketing division called Wanderlust. The new division’s focus is to help its clients understand what drives people to desire their destinations and build integrated marketing communications campaigns to fuel that desire. “Travel and destination marketing is in our DNA,” according to Wanderlust’s President and Chief Strategy Officer, Mark Shipley. “Over the past 20 plus years, we’ve worked with numerous organizations competing in this space. One of our first clients was Seventy Six travel and currently we are working with both Windham Mountain and Mount Snow, Howe Caverns, The South Shore Bayway, the City of Troy New York and Boston University’s International Studies program. Launching Wanderlust to declare our expertise in this area made perfect strategic sense.” The new Wanderlust division’s clients are all on board. “We had to overcome many years of brand inconsistency while being very clear about our new owners’ priorities,” comments Meri Spicer, VP Marketing for Mount Snow Resort. “Wanderlust took on this ‘double whammy’ and give us just the right strategy, look and message.” Bob Holt, General Manager at Howe Caverns, concurs. “They’re pushing us to think differently about our brand, the customer experience and the way we market. It’s inspiring, exciting, our customers love it, and it’s working.” Wanderlust can be found on the internet at www.createwanderlust.com.
